8:56pm via text: “Buddee is looking for you.”
Buddee is my dog. He tends to wander around looking for whomever last walked out the back door and hasn’t walked back in. That would have been me this time, when I left Chicago for DC on Sunday afternoon.
Buddee paces back and forth whether it’s been 2 minutes, 2 hours, or 2 days since his human went missing. He’s an old little man. Very old. He’s also lost most of his hearing and vision. But he’s still quite frisky and can weave on a dime around and between the furniture as if his eyes were much younger than his years. At least as long as we don’t move the chairs too far out of place.
And so I launched the iChat and hooked up with home. He couldn’t hear or see me (I suppose we could call him “Tommy”), but he’s finally settled down.
